Que's Story

Que is a chef with 30 years of experience. Throughout the years he's spent many hours studying and exploring various cooking techniques to incorporate into his cooking repertoire. The latter half of his career was spent teaching and shaping aspiring cooks to become highly skilled chefs. He realized that understanding how to cook is very much like understanding Jiu Jitsu. It was never about remembering the moves but more about understanding the concepts and principles, just like in the kitchen, it's never about remembering the recipe but the techniques needed to complete it.

Que started training in 2014 and currently holds a brown belt. He teaches morning classes and specializes in attacking the neck. He started Jiu Jitsu at Epic MMA wanting to build more mobility and flexibility but very quickly discovered he enjoyed the problem solving aspect of the sport. What started out as twice per week training, soon turned into 6 times per week within the first 6 months. He has competed in some IBJJF competitions capturing gold under the Blue Belt category.

He is a father of three kids and runs his own business while finding time to continue to train and improve. He enjoys finding the time to help others improve on and off the mats.

Fun fact: he grills a mean steak.
